As a member of an immigrant family who found a new home outside of our country in the state of Massachusetts, Senator Edward Kenney meant a lot to us.
His office helped and supported my family when we needed it. His education programs gave us the opportunity to advance in our studies. He worked hard for migratory laws, an unresolved issue that stands very close to my heart.
Today, the battle for health care, which he began in 1978 continues. He believed that "health care was a matter of right and not of privilege."
As he passes away, I remember his words, "The work goes on. The cause endures. The hope still lives. And the dream shall never die."
It is a time to remember Senator Edward Kennedy. A true statesman of the people

We just lost him after a year of battling with cancer.

Thanks for your kind comment. It has been a very difficult day and I know the rest of the week is going to be just as sad. But I'm sure in time, I won't be so sad...hopefully.
I completely agree Senator Kennedy was a remarkable politician. It's sad to see him pass at a young age (well, it is a young age to die these days). I hope his legacy will live on in the politicians after him....I really hope...
